Choosing The Right Earrings For You Or Your Child

Posted on

Earrings can be a fun way to make a fashion statement or express yourself, and the choices for earrings are nearly limitless. You can find them online, in local stores or even flea markets and fairs. The quality may differ from these different sources, but if you shop carefully, you will find the right ones for you. If you don't, you could try making your own and come up with designs that fit your style. The supplies to make your own are available from many craft stores and online if you decide to give it a try.

Choosing Children's Earrings

More and more children wear earrings these days, and it is not limited to girls. There are many boys wearing earrings as well. The quality of the earring is important when you are buying them for children and the back of the earring should be a style that locks in plays securely so they do not lose them when they are active. They need to be easily removed for things like school or extracurricular sports but should not fall off easily.  The better the quality, the less likely the backs are to fall off.

Choosing the Material Your Earrings Are Made From

There are many different materials that you may find earrings made from. Gold, silver, white gold, and stainless steel are all commonly used to craft earrings and other jewelry. What you wear or like is mostly personal preference but in some cases, one material might be a better fit than something else. You will need to choose what is right for you.

Hypoallergenic Earrings

If you are allergic to some metals, you may have no choice but to buy hypoallergenic earrings. These earrings are made from very high quality, pure metals. The reaction some people have to certain metals can be very slight to very high so if you have a reaction to the earrings you are wearing, take them out. The reaction can be worse if lower quality metals like tin are mixed into the material the earring is made from.

Handmade Earrings

Handmade jewelry and earrings are becoming pretty commonplace these days. The great thing about this is that you can talk to the creator about the materials used and get some information about the quality of the product before you buy it. Handmade jewelry is often more expressive and the stories behind why the artist created the jewelry can be almost as much fun as the earrings, themselves.
